Kimberly and Brendon’s summer wedding at Hollyfield Manor was absolutely beautiful! As experienced wedding photographers at the Hollyfield Manor, this was our first wedding where the ceremony took place in front of the house! Typically, our couples have chosen to take their vows overlooking the lake! I love the lake but, at time, the lighting can be extremely complicating and the lake extremely bright due to it facing the sun. However, with the ceremony taking place in front of the house, Kimberly and Brendon were able to have a beautifully naturally lit ceremony! Also, you can’t beat walking down the aisle along the brick lined pathway. Another first for this wedding was the bride and groom wanting to take advantage of the long, grand driveway and take photos along the tree lined street.

For those who live in Virginia like we do, you know that summer 2025 has been sweltering with heat and humidity making outdoor photos somewhat uncomfortable. However, our Kimberly and Brendon’s wedding day, there happen to be a cold front where the temperatures stayed in the low 80’s! I joked with my couple and told them that they were blessed with great weather because they paid their dues during their engagement session! Just imagine and outdoor session in Richmond with ice cold windchills! They definitely deserved beautiful wedding for their wedding!!

As wedding photographers, we are often told by clients beforehand that they are awkward and nervous in front of a camera and that they just want to look and feel natural!  We all can relate to that!  I too feel awkward during family photos.  However, I've learned that by having a strong ability to notice the small details and to respect ones natural body,  we can make every look great and feel like their natural selves!
