We are sharing a gem today: Min and Michael’s session shot by Richmond Engagement Photographer Michael and Jasmine. Min and Michael have the most incredible spirits! They met in church and now are planning their wedding at the Historic Tuckahoe.
For their engagement session, they chose Maymont Park in the heart of Richmond Virginia. If you explore our blog enough, you will see that we visit Maymont frequently. For most locations, I would probably grow tired of photographing there but not Maymont. This park gives me something different every time to visit. Whether is different lighting or different blooms, I always find a way to make each session unique in all on it’s own.
Our Focus When Photographing
My main focus when photographing engagement sessions is getting the couple comfortable and at ease. My goal is for all my couples to trust me enough to know that I won’t put them in uncomfortable poses or have them do prompts that make them feel awkward. All my prompts are used to elicit REAL laughter and REAL smiles. You won’t ever hear me say “Look at each other and laugh!” because they will look back at that photo and remember that awkward fake laugh instead of remembering something that MADE them laugh. I listen to my couples in order to know what they like and what they want to me to be conscious of while I pose them.
