Summertime Maymont Engagement Photos

As Richmond VA wedding and engagement photographers, we have taken plenty of Maymont Engagement Photos.  Each time we go, the light it different, the colors are different, and the overall mood is different.  This is great because it allows us to be creative each time and not rely on take the same photos we did last time!  I am always finding new ways to photograph Maymont Park!  All year around, Maymont Park is well maintained and the gardens are changed out 4 times a year to feature in season blooms.

When I first met up with Meg and Peter, they had the most cheerful demeanor!  Both were extremely welcoming and friendly right off the bat!  Their cheerfulness definitely helped while we navigated the sea of prom dresses!  Side note, always check the date of Prom before going to Maymont!  The park was packed with parents and their teens taking photos before prom. No worries though, Maymont provides plenty of small, out of the way spots for beautiful photos!

Meg and Peter kept their attire neutral and let the garden provide all the color!  That was a great decision because it allowed the focus to be on them instead of having too many distracting colors.  It also allowed the photos to remain soft and romantic.  I made sure to incorporated TONS of movement and games in order to showcase their fun-loving personalities!

Enjoy some of my favorites!

updated post coming SOON!

As wedding photographers, we are often told by clients that they are awkward and nervous in front of a camera and that they just want to look and feel natural!  We all can relate to that!  I too feel awkward during family photos.  However, I've learned that by having a strong ability to pose and to notice the small details, we can make every look great and feel like their natural selves!
