Pocahontas State Park Engagement Session

Michael and Taylor’s engagement session at Pocahontas State Park was absolutely memorable!  This was my first time visiting this park and let me just say that it is HUGE!  You will definitely need a map if you aren’t familiar with park!  Luckily, Michael and Taylor know this park well because they spend a lot of time together here and it is also were Michael proposed!!

This young couple will be getting married next year at the beautiful Amber Grove but until then, these two are completing some serious goals!  Taylor will be graduating from CNU this December with a degree in education and Michael will be graduating from West Point next year and will enter the military as an officer!!

Michael and Taylor are so beautiful together and we are so excited for their wedding next year!  In the meantime, enjoy some of our favorites from their engagement session!

Walking around the park and finding pockets of warm light amongst all the deep shade is definitely a photographers dream!  This image below is one of my favorites!

This beautiful, growing tree has a very special meaning for Michael.  His grandfather passed away near this spot so his family planted a tree in memorial of him.  I was very honored when he asked me to take a few photographs of them near this tree.

As wedding photographers, we are often told by clients that they are awkward and nervous in front of a camera and that they just want to look and feel natural!  We all can relate to that!  I too feel awkward during family photos.  However, I've learned that by having a strong ability to pose and to notice the small details, we can make every look great and feel like their natural selves!
