Historic Jasmine Plantation Wedding
What do I say about this wedding rich with beautiful moments. Diosa and Victor’s Historic Jasmine Plantation wedding was all that Diosa prayed for! Beautiful weather, clear skies, and family and friends in attendance! This bride and groom deserved the best wedding day and I truly believe that that’s exactly what they received!
I’m so glad to finally share this wedding on the blog! October is a busy season for weddings and session that blogging sometimes get’s behind. Luckily, Diosa and Victor received a TON of images a few days after their wedding so they wouldn’t have to wait to see them once the blog was complete!
There’s Nothing Like Family
Diosa and Victor both come from close filipino families. Knowing that some of their families were flying in from the Philippines made me want to make sure we had extra time during family portraits. I’m glad we did that because we were able to capture family portraits with both of their families! Michael and I don’t have a lot of portraits of our extended family so making sure our brides and grooms have them is a top priority for me!
A Day Like No Other…
Like a lot of our weddings, Diosa and Victor’s day started with a calm in the air. Even when things were rushed to be finished on time, there was never any panic….only a joy amongst the hurry! I loved hanging with Diosa and her bridesmaids as they had their hair and makeup done. As they chatted, I was in the corner not too far away taking beautiful shots of their details!
After Diosa got into her dress, her bridesmaids gathered around to pray for her. Moments like these are what makes a wedding day great! After prayer, Diosa and Victor exchanged wonderful gifts and then headed outside for their first look!
In Keeping with Traditions….
In Filipino culture, the bride and groom have Principle Sponsors. These are women and men who are significant to the bride and groom. The sponsors’ participation is symbolic of wisdom and support they will offer the bride and groom.
Also important in Filipino weddings is the Catholic veil ceremony. Through the Catholic veil ceremony, two individuals are bonded and recognized as one. The veil sponsors drape one side of a white veil over the bride’s head and the other side over the groom’s shoulder as a symbol of unity.
There is also the cord ceremony. Similar to the veil ceremony, the Yugal or cord is incorporated as a representation of the couple’s bond and union. Their sponsors will place the Yugal on top of the veil as the couple receives their blessing!
There were so many special moments in Diosa and Victor’s wedding day and I’m so glad Michael and I are able to give them these lasting memories in the form of beautiful images! We wish this amazing couple the best and we are excited to share their wedding with you all!
