A Beautiful Greek Wedding
Andrew and Nichole celebrated their wedding at two of the most gorgeous places in the area, The Historic Post Office and St. Constantine and Helen Greek Orthodox Church. This was our first greek wedding and I must say that it left us speechless. Weddings are always beautiful, but a greek wedding is truly something to see! Just witnessing the heritage and culture throughout the ceremony was really special to me! A very important part of a greek ceremony is the “crowning”.
After the couple has joined hands, the priest takes the crowns from the marriage alter and blesses the bride and groom each three times. He places the crowns on their heads and the Koumbara, who is Nichole’s sister Alexandra McCarthy, exchanges the crowns between the bride and groom three times. This is also done with the rings! After the blessings, the priest takes the bride and groom around the alter of marriage three times and they are pronounced husband and wife!
A Wonderful Celebration
After the amazing ceremony, Andrew and Nichole entered their reception through an Arch of Sabers and danced the night aways under the music of a live band! Not only was I amazed at how grand this wedding was, but I was also taken by how close knit their families are! Even friends are considered family and it showed throughout the day at they interacted!
We are so happy for Andrew and Nichole and we wish them the best of life together! So, cheers to the bride and groom and enjoy some of our favorites from their wedding!
Look at these beautiful flower girls!!
I loved this photo of Nichole’s mother, Paulette, helping her button her dress as Andrew’s mother, Tonya, looks on with the most happy smile!
Andrew’s grandmother, or Meme as he calls her, helped Nichole put on her pear necklace! What a sweet moment that this family can cherish forever!
Nichole’s grandmother flew in from Greece to be there for the wedding! I love this photo!
Love this moment! Nichole’s mother helped her get ready from start to finish and when all was said and done, the stopped for an embrace.
This is one proud mother!
When Nichole’s father took to the floor for a speech, all the room fell silent has he said a toast to Nichole and Andrew. He also honored his wife Paulette in the most endearing way!
