It’s time to update the blog and what better way than to share our most recent engagement session! This sunrise Colonial Williamsburg Engagement Session took place on the 4th of July. Because we knew that the 4th of July holiday typically draws large crowds, we opted for an early morning sunrise session at 6:00am! It was completely worth it though! We basically had Colonial Williamsburg all to ourselves!

My favorite moment of this session is learning that the groom loves flowers and has a photo collection of them. They often send each other photos of different flowers that they find. During the session, we incorporated a flower from the garden nearby that they both were drawn to!

I incorporated lots of movement and interactions to keep my couples nerves at bay and to keep the mood upbeat and energetic. My go to movement shots are definitely the walking ones! I also used games and prompts to capture candid moments and genuine smiles and laughter!

Engagement sessions are my favorite because it allows both me and the bride and groom to photograph at a slow pace. We can get to know one another and I get to learn what poses best fit my clients!

Enjoy some of my favorite images from our Sunrise Colonial Williamsburg Engagement session!

updated post coming SOON!

As wedding photographers, we are often told by clients beforehand that they are awkward and nervous in front of a camera and that they just want to look and feel natural!  We all can relate to that!  I too feel awkward during family photos.  However, I've learned that by having a strong ability to notice the small details and to respect ones natural body,  we can make every look great and feel like their natural selves!
