Virginia Zoo Engagement Session
Michael and I have never photographed a Virginia Zoo engagement session, so when Erica told me that the Virginia Zoo was the location of their date the day before Al officially asked her out, I knew we had to use it!
Erica and Al met in college in 2005 where they lived in the same freshmen dorm. They dated for a little bit back then, but reconnected in 2016 on Valentine’s Day!
Love Stories
When Erica and I were planning their engagement session, I asked her to tell me a funny or touching story about their relationship. Well….Erica gave me three amazing stories (and I’m sure she has plenty more!). After reading those stories, I immediately knew that Al was a great guy for her!
Here is one story she told me that made me jump from my chair!
“Al lives in Northern VA while I’m down here in Portsmouth, so we spend most of our time apart. It’s really tough. Ironically, Al’s dad and I share a birthday. My first birthday while we were dating this time around, I didn’t think I’d get to see Al, since his dad was turning 60, and his family had planned a party. My best friend drove up from Florida, and we went out to dinner. When I got home, Al was sitting on my bed playing games on his phone. He came bearing birthday gifts and flowers for my mother, who’d helped him plan his arrival. He is the king of surprises, and I’m a very spoiled lady.”
Yes you are VERY spoiled Erica!! This story gave me all the heart eyes y’all!!
Michael and I are so very excited to capture their wedding day this May and we are please to share our favorites from their engagement session!
These two love getting slurpees together so what better way to end their engagement session!!?
