Historic Post Office Wedding
Mattie and Ryan’s wedding was unbelievably awesome!! I loved their choice of colors, flowers, and venue! Everything came together SO beautifully and we are so grateful to be a part of it!
Mattie and Ryan said their ” I do’s” at the new Historic Post Office. This is our second wedding at this venue and, honestly, I don’t think I will ever get tired of photographing here! What made this wedding extra special to me was the fact that I didn’t meet Mattie personally until the day of their wedding and she was so kindhearted and welcoming!
Traditions
“Something old, something new,
something borrowed, something blue…
and a sixpence in her shoe..”
One of my favorite things about Mattie and Ryan’s wedding was their traditions. Mattie incorporated a lot of traditions in her wedding day to make it memorable and unique. One in specific being a sixpence in her shoe! The sixpence is a very old wedding tradition where the bride puts a small sixpence in her shoe to bring her and her love happiness and prosperity!
Another tradition that they used in their wedding involved the Nuernberg Wedding Cup! During the toasts, Mattie’s mother explained this tradition to the guest and basically, the bride and groom must both drink from this cup AT THE SAME TIME without dropping any of the wine! If the couple can successfully do this, they will have lots of love, faithfulness, and good luck! And yes, Mattie and Ryan didn’t drop anything!!
Michael and I loved spending time with these two and their families. We wish them the best and we know that they have a bright and loving future together!
Enjoy our favorites! (There’s many!!)
The images above feature the sixpence! Mattie placed this coin in her shoe to bring her and Ryan happiness and prosperity!!
The image above on the left represents something very special to Mattie and her family. Inside of her dress is a heart shaped patch that was sewn in. This patch was from her grandfather’s favorite pajamas. He past away due to Alzheimer’s and this was Mattie’s special way of honoring him on her wedding day.
